Cultivating the feeling of joy during sessions is not only pivotal to the type of care delivery we uphold for our practice, it also supports a safe and comfortable environment that allows each child to best develop their skills and abilities. In light of World Day of Joy, we'd like to highlight the different ways our care team members aim to bring happiness to the children and their families that walk through our doors and place their trust in us.
Where Fun and Learning Meet
Here at Legacy, our gyms house a variety of games, tools and textures perfect for kids to have fun with while learning. During these kinds of sessions, the child is encouraged to play in the ball pit, interact with sensory toys, and explore their space as a means to improve their emotional regulation and work towards other developmental milestones. This kind of activity is commonly practiced among children who are hyperactive, easily flustered, and sensory-sensitive. Our compassionate and experienced Speech-Language Pathologists implement techniques that involve back-and-forth interactions using gestures, signs, vocalizations, and words with the aim of helping kids learn to maintain a regulated emotional state amidst different stimuli.
What other methods do we implement for emotional development?
