About Legacy

Marcela Padilla is a renowned and devoted speech-language pathologist and education specialist with an emphasis on psycholinguistics. Marcela holds a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Marcela currently works as the leading therapist at Legacy. Thanks to her experience accumulated by decades in clinical practice and different cities of the United States, Marcela has managed to systematize and simplify the recognized "Greenspan Floortime®" approach by applying its proven set of principles and techniques to the children she has treated across Texas.

Madi Castillo is a bilingual speech language pathologist with more than 25 years of experience.

Madi holds a master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders/Audiology, and a master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology with a background in early intervention and clinical audiology /aural habilitation.

Karla Smith is a well-versed bilingual speech language pathologist -assistant with experience working in home health, school, and clinical settings.

Karla has over three years of experience as a therapist and a lifetime of interacting with children as a caregiver, tutor, and Spanish immersion preschool teacher.

Dora Sanchez is a devoted speech-language pathologist -assistant and education specialist with an emphasis in mathematics.

Dora has worked as a childhood educator for more than fifteen years. As a speech- language pathologist - assistant, she has worked in both home health and clinical settings for the last three years.

Mirian E. Guevara is a devoted occupational therapist specializing in pediatric populations. Miriam holds a master’s degree and has been working in the field for more than 25 years. 

As an occupational therapist, Mirian utilizes her skills and expertise in promoting health and education to children through therapeutic intervention and adaptation skills.

Jacqueline Garcia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Teaching and Learning, as well as a Post-Baccalaureate in Communication Science and Disorders. Upon graduating, Jacqueline gained formative professional experience while supporting kids whose families sought clinical support for conditions that included Autism and Down Syndrome. Jacqueline's work is characterized by respect, creativity, patience, and teamwork—all fundamental attributes that Legacy embeds within its culture.

Leandra Mesa recently joined our Katy clinic as a soon-to-be Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) as she works to complete her master’s degree by the end of this year. Leandra enjoys her work because of the impact she is able to make in kids’ lives. As a Colombian-native, Leandra is passionate about using her bilingual abilities and clinical skills to help the culturally diverse pediatric populations in her community. Leandra’s respectful, friendly, and sensible manner, coupled with her extensive healthcare experience in outpatient and home health environments supporting kids, make her a wonderful addition to Legacy’s team.
